OPEN AIR MUSEUM "СТАРО СЕЛО" SIROGOJNO ZLATIBOR
The intersection of research up to now has shown that traditional music of Zlatibor area is an interesting cultural phenomenon. It refracts everyday life of the population of this region - human notions about religion, superstition, moral, etc. Specific historical, cultural, social and economic circumstances have succeeded in preserving original elements and forms in one part of the folk music; on the other hand, there appear some new categories – new musical instruments, group instrumental music making and a new category of players – the professionals.
The exhibition "Music through life" and a concert of Mina Matijašević and Ethno Jazz Orchestra on Thursday, July 30, 2015 marked the Museum Saint’s Day The Fiery Mary.
The exhibition was opened by Professor Dimitrije Golemović, ethnomusicologist.
The exhibition "Floral motifs on textile items” from the Ethnographic collection of the Open-air Museum "Old Village" in Sirogojno, was organized on the occasion of the annual cycle of customs related to plants, which are celebrated these days- on Midsummer and St Peter's Days.
An exhibition titled "Heroes" by Miljana Drašković, a painter from Užice, was opened on Thursday May 28, 2015 at the Open-air Museum "Old Village" in Sirogojno. The exhibition brings together two thematic cycles that the painter carefully dealt with over the past few years.
The exhibition “Family scenes” of sculptor Marko Crnobrnja and curator Nikola Krstovic is inspired by actual moment in which the relation of state and society towards parenthood and childhood is changing. Fifteen sculptures are analysis of idealized family environment, requisitioning of relationship between parents and children, children themselves….
